I made a mistake today, but we all have to have a turn I guess. I took a seat in the back of the van. It's cramped and uncomfy, but I did sleep some, so not a complete loss.
After a relatively unhurried start to the day, we packed up the van and headed back into San Antonio for a proper view of The Alamo. It's an impressive story, of people defending themselves and their desire for independence to the death. Very inspiring and helps explain the Texan passion for their state. I'll certainly Remeber The Alamo.
From San Antonio, we knew we were in for a long driving day. The only stop was a swimming lake at the town of Junction. Many people swam. I blogged and didn't burn.
Fort Stockton
No more stops on the way and we arrived here in Fort Stockton RV Park, where I am currently sat in a warm breeze, listening to the tents flap, enough potatoes for twelve slowly come to the boil before the sausages are put on and glancing up at the sunset.
This campsite has grass outside the tents instead of leaves / mud / gravel / wood chips. That's a huge plus. Lets hope the flapping canvas doesn't keep us awake.
Time to go tend the food I suppose.
Goodnight
